School Based Traineeship Course Coordinator
Network is recruiting for the above position for 2009.
The main duties of the position are:
- Liase with schools, students, families and services in any day to day issues, concerns or changes as they arise.
- Conduct some face-to-face teaching sessions once a week during term time and in longer blocks during some school holidays according to the timetable and working with other course teachers.
- In conjunction with the Adult Education Coordinator prepare timetables for students to meet the outcomes of the Certificate IV.
- Conduct workplace assessment visits on each student according to the requirements of the course.
- Visit each student in the workplace at least once a term to ensure their work-placement requirements are being met.
- Assist the Adult Education Coordinator in orientation of new students and families into the traineeship course.
- Develop promotional and work-placement material as required.
- Identify and contact possible work-placement sites for the incoming students.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with the work-placement centres and the legal employer, Australian Training Company.

Selection Criteria:
- Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training
- At least 5 years experience delivering face to face vocational training
- At least 5 years experience in the OOSH sector
- Proven abilities in accredited course development
- Knowledge of the Community Services Training Package
- Demonstrated organisational skills
- Knowledge of recent developments in vocational training and OOSH
- Skills to research, develop and revise training courses and materials
- Ability to work as a member of Network’s team
- Computer literacy
The position is 7 hours per week, including 3 hours teaching time during school terms and is paid under the Teachers (Independent Schools) (State) Award, Step 1 (casual).
The position is based on the 2009 school calendar (Tuesday 29th January to Friday 19th December 2009) with opportunities for renewal based on enrolments for 2010.
There is a requirement for travel to work-placement sites, this is paid under the Network’s staff policy (currently 57¢/kilometre), candidates must have a full drivers licence and their own car with comprehensive insurance.

- In conjunction with the Course Coordinator and the Adult Education Coordinator prepare timetables for students to meet the outcomes of the Certificate IV.
- Conduct workplace assessment visits on each student according to the requirements of the course.
- Assist the Course Coordinator and Adult Education Coordinator in orientation of new students and families into the traineeship course.
