OOSH Child Care Assistant/Educator
Port Macquarie – NSW Mid NortEh Coast
Before & After School Care & Vacation Care

PMNC Children’s Services OOSH & Vacation Care is looking for a motivated, fun and enthusiastic child care professional to join our team.  We provide Before / After School Care & Vacation Care for up to 80 children per day at the “OOSH House”.

Key Responsibilities

This position is a permanent part time role within the Children’s Services team.  You will be responsible for working with the Team Leader and Centre Director on the development, implementation and evaluation of the daily routines, structures and programs across the BSC & ASC programs and Vacation Care program.  You will need to be self-motivated, a great communicator, a team player, organised and have effective time management skills and committed to providing quality care, education and fun for school aged children.

Hours

  • The position is 5 days per week – Monday - Friday.
  • The position will be a minimum of 30hrs per week - After School Care hours – 2.30 – 6.00pm, Before School Care hours – 6.45 – 9.15am. Broken Shift Allowance is paid.
  • Vacation Care - as per roster between 7.00am – 6.00pm – up to 38hrs per week during school holidays
  • Additional hours are paid for Staff Meetings, Programming and Administration.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working with school aged children. Preferably in an OOSH service
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and “My Time Our Place” school aged Framework
  • Knowledge of Policies & Procedures and WHS in an OOSH service
  • Diploma / Certificate in Children’s Services or relevant child care qualifications or willingness to undertake further study.
  • Current Drivers Licence (preferably able to drive Manual vehicle)LR Licence or willingness to obtain
  • Working With Children Check – new system commencing 15 June 2013.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience writing and evaluating OOSH programs
  • Certified Supervisors Certificate

We are looking for casual staff to be available for the following shifts, depending on the number of bookings:

  • Up to two mornings per week 7.00 am to 9.00 am
  • Up tothree/ four afternoons per week 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm
