We are looking for experienced, energetic, creative and enthusiastic individuals to fill the positions of Co-ordinator at our Centre in Ashfield and Haberfield or Assistant Co-ordinator in our Centre at Forestville, Belrose & Marsfield. We are also looking for a Childcare Worker/Administrator for our Parramatta Centre (afternoons only)

All applicants must have a positive, professional attitude and be team players.

The successful applicants will be working alongside the Centre Staff with 5-12 year old children, duties will include:

  • Management of children and staff
  • Collaborative planning and programming Liaising with families
  • Participation in accreditation activities and Centre development
  • Maintenance of centre environment and records

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate 3 in Children's Services or previous experience working in Before and After School Care in either an assistant or co-ordinator role.
  • Skills in building strong relationships with children, parents and the surrounding community
  • Ability to assist in planning and implementing programs and routines.
  • An understanding of age appropriate and educational learning activities for primary aged children

Anticipated hours of work will be split shifts from 7:30 to 9:30am and 3pm to 6pm during school term and possible full shifts during the Vacation Care Program in the school holidays. (The Eastern Suburbs position is for After School Care only, anticipated 20 hour working week)

The successful application will have a proven track record in quality service provision and a commitment to pursue a career in the Out of School Hours sector.

The successful applicant will be responsible for staff supervision and management, programming and some administration. The successful applicant will be required to work a minimum 4 mornings and 4 afternoons per week with 5 days per year allocated for professional development Some weekend work may be required for attendance at Network Biannual conference and Network Wollongong residential with your team. The centre operates vacation care with a minimum leave period of 3 weeks over the Christmas vacation period.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum Diploma in Out of School Hours care or equivalent
  • 2 years Experience working with children 5-12 years of age in OOSH environment.
  • First Aid certificate
  • Computer Literacy
  • Understanding of Out of School Hours Care philosophy and approaches.
  • Understanding of the Quality Assurance process for Out of School Hours Care.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development including qualifications.

Highly desirable

  • Driver's Licence

South Coogee OOSH Care Centre is looking for a permanent part-time member of staff to work with our children with Additional Support Needs in our Before and After School Care Centre.
