Centre Coordinator

Newport Public School Extended Hours Care (NSEHC) service is recruiting a new Centre Coordinator to commence in preparation for Term 2.

The NSEHC service is based at the school. The Centre Coordinator is required to work approximately 32 to 34 hours per week including attendance at the centre between 7.00am to 9.00am and/or 3.00pm until 6.30pm plus some additional time for administration/shopping.

The Coordinator is responsible for running the centre, management of staff, overview of programs and for liaison with the bookkeeper/treasurer and Parents' Committee. A full job description will be available on application. Salary will be at award rates.

Formal qualifications involving working with children (Childcare Certificates, a teaching degree/diploma or an OOSH qualification) are essential.

Experience of working towards Accreditation against National Standards in a similar role would be desirable.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Co-Coordinator to lead staff in providing a stimulating, creative and safe environment for children before and after school and during school vacations.

This position is flexible in hours worked.

Required skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in teaching or related discipline (such as diploma in early childhood studies)
  • Experience in working with children aged 5-12 years
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to engage well with the range of stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to work well with a team
  • Ability to plan and implement a program of activity for primary school aged children
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Good knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements and age appropriate management techniques

OOSH Coordinator Glebe

A Coordinator position exists for a dynamic, creative, and energetic person to lead the team at Centipede at Glebe School. Our centre provides quality care for children aged 5-12 years. The centre operates within the grounds of Glebe Public School in and is currently licensed for 30 children in before school care and 70 in after school care.

The service operates from 7.00-9am and 3.00-6.00pm during school terms. Vacation programmes are also provided for up to 50 children. The position is a permanent one of 38 hours per week with usual award conditions. You will work with an Assistant Coordinator and a number of experienced casual staff, supported by a Management Committee.

All relevant Working with Children checks will be conducted.

The Kids Castle Before and After School Care Centre is seeking a highly motivated individual who would like to Assist the Director in the newly created coordinators position for our medium sized OOSH Centre during the hours of 7.15am – 9.30am & 2.30pm – 6pm. The Kids Castle is a not for profit, Accredited, P&C run OOSH service within the Castle Cove School grounds. The Centre caters for up to 50 children per session for both before and after school. The Centre is closed during school holiday periods.

We are looking for an energetic, creative and self motivated person who loves working with the school age child. You will be required to work up to 38 hours per week during term time with great conditions including staff incentives.
