Child-friendly Cities Seminar The City joins the Australian Institute of Urban Studies to present this free seminar discussing just how child-friendly our cities are. Some see cities, especially their business cores, as mainly for adults. Others see the ability to cater for the needs of its young as a necessary measure of a civilised community and see its city centres as valuable resources for all ages. With participation from groups of school students and parents as well as professionals and academics, the seminar seeks to give our young a voice and to consider cities from their perspective. This meeting is a must for those of us with a role in planning or managing our cities but also for those with an interest in how our youngest citizens currently experience and are nurtured in our urban environment. Thanks to the support of the City of Sydney there is no charge for this seminar and no requirement to register. There is however no guarantee of a seat, so come early. Where: Lord Mayor's Reception Room, 3rd Floor Town Hall House, 456 Kent Street Sydney Proudly supported by City of Sydney General Enquiries Website: www.aius-nsw.org/common/pdf/AIUS_20thAugust08.pdf
